Cleveland Heights residents have the priority use of our parks and facilities. Nonresidents have limited access. Residents can bring guests, but the number is limited and depends on the facility and usage. Our Community Center was built and is supported by taxes paid by residents and is primarily for use by residents. Some programs are open to the nonresidents as well, with a higher rate structure.
The taxes cover the cost of paying for the facilities and their upkeep. The fees are necessary to cover program costs (staff, materials, etc.).
The City facilities are supported by income taxes and tax levy payments by Cleveland Heights residents only. The property taxes support the school system and not the individual cities of Cleveland Heights or University Heights.
The Community Center has two ice rinks, a gym, a fitness center and indoor four-lane track Senior Activity Center, meeting rooms and rental spaces, concession stand, all purpose pathway, grass recreation area and a nearby nature trail.
